HONORING YOUR JEWELRY

PRODUCT CARE

Just as life flows, it is natural for precious materials to reflect the beautiful signs of wear over time. Through mindful attention and simple care, you ensure the stability and enduring beauty of your cherished pieces.

  • Solid Gold

Our jewelry is crafted from 14k or 18k solid gold, blending pure 24k gold with carefully balanced alloys to achieve both enduring strength and luminous beauty.

    • The Story of Wear: Fine markings and gentle changes in finish are an intrinsic part of your gold's story, reflecting the moments of your daily life.

    • Conscious Cleaning: To maintain its radiance, we recommend a simple soak in warm, mild soapy water, followed by careful drying with a soft cloth. A gentle polish with a jewelry cloth will restore its shine. For a deeper clean, an ultrasonic machine is safe and effective.

    • Enduring Luster: With this small investment of mindful care, your gold jewelry will remain luminous and a treasured companion for years to come.

    Sterling Silver

Sterling silver is a material that naturally evolves. Its finish will gently shift, influenced by your unique skin chemistry, how often you wear it, and how it is stored.

    • The Beauty of Use: Silver loves to be worn; the natural oils of your skin can actually help slow down tarnishing, keeping your piece glowing.

    • Restoring Brilliance: To remove tarnish, simply use a specially formulated silver dip or gently rub your piece with a soft silver polishing cloth—this will instantly restore its brilliance.

    • A Word of Caution: Avoid exposing your silver to chlorine or harsh chemicals (found in pools, hot tubs, and cleaning products). Silver is sensitive to these, and contact can weaken the metal, making it brittle.

    • Observe & Accept: Notice that tarnishing and general wear (including fine surface scratches or minor color changes) are a natural part of silver's evolution. These gentle shifts add character and depth, and as such, they are not covered under warranty.

  • Tarnishing is a natural process of oxidation, where metals react with oxygen, creating a fine layer of surface discoloration.

    • Acceptance & Alignment: This gentle change is normal for all metals and is not considered a manufacturing fault.

    • Accelerated Change: Tarnish is sped up by exposure to oils, acidity, and chemicals like perfumes, moisturisers, sunscreen, and salt water.

    • Daily Ritual: Regular, conscious care (such as lightly cleaning your piece after wear and polishing with a soft cloth) will ensure your jewelry maintains its brilliance and remains beautiful.

  • Some of our fine rings are made from precious metal wire. Significant pressure can cause the wire to bend out of shape or break.

    • Be present and aware when moving heavy objects or participating in rigorous activities (like at the gym) to protect the metal's stability.

    Rings with Stones

    • Atelier Service: Feel free to visit our Studio IRIS atelier for a complimentary clean of your stones.

    • Home Care: Use warm, soapy water, a soft toothbrush, and a tissue for polishing. A polishing cloth or an ultrasonic cleaning machine is also a worthy investment for at-home care. But be mindful if your ring contains stones.

    • Claw Setting Check: If your ring has a claw setting, we recommend visiting every year. This professional check ensures your setting is securely anchored.

  • Woven together with links as fine as thread, our signature fine chains are delicate in nature and require care to prevent stretching or catching.

    • The Risk of Stretching:
Chains are made from malleable solid gold and silver. Continuous pulling or catching can lead to stretching—the most common reason for breakage and potential loss.

    • Overnight Release:
Release your chain during the night to prevent unnecessary stress.

    • Check the Alignment:
Periodically measure your chain's length against its original size. If your jump rings are no longer perfect circles, it signals stress and stretching. If you notice stretching, lodge a repair request immediately.

    • Knots: The Gentle Untangle:
If your chain becomes knotted, untangle it as soon as you can to avoid stretching. Use two pins on a flat, hard surface. Start in the middle of the knot, gently maneuvering your pin to release the tangle. Focus on being delicate; you are performing a quiet, precise procedure.

    • Clasps:
Our fine clasps can be sensitive to pressure. Over time, their mechanical springs may become compromised. A replacement can be provided if necessary.

  • Butterfly Backings: If you notice the tension of the discs has loosened, gently tighten your butterfly backings by making the curvature of the springs smaller at the point of contact with the post. This increases the friction and security on the post.

  • Handle your set stones with care to ensure the security and clarity of their settings. Focus on removal during tasks that involve impact or chemical exposure.

  • While durable, diamonds are not indestructible. They resist scratching but can be chipped by strong force, become loose in a weakened setting, or be damaged by contact with other diamonds.

    • Intention in Storage: Store your diamond jewelry individually in its original packaging in a cool, dry place.

    • Simple Cleanse: Diamonds can attract grease. Clean them with a lint-free cloth or with warm water, mild soap, and a soft toothbrush.

    • Professional Care: We encourage a periodic professional cleaning to maintain your piece's inherent beauty and integrity.

  • Very fine prongs holding gemstones are susceptible to movement from everyday wear. A seemingly unnoticed knock against a hard surface can cause these prongs to shift, risking stone loss.

    • Gentle Awareness: Clean your opals and coloured gemstones by gently wiping them with a damp, soft cloth and mild detergent.

    • Avoid: Please avoid bleach, chemicals, and harsh cleaners. Do not use an ultrasonic cleaner, as the intense vibrations may cause cracking or damage to certain stones.

  • Emeralds require greater care than other coloured gemstones. Due to their natural inclusions, they can be brittle and susceptible to chipping.

    • Grounded Routine: We recommend removing them before bathing, swimming, or rigorous activities to maintain their inner glow and lustre.

    • Cleaning: Gently wipe them with a soft cloth and mild soapy water. Avoid bleach, chemicals, or an ultrasonic cleaner.

  • Pearls are delicate and vulnerable to many chemicals found in beauty products like make-up and perfume.

    • Conscious Dressing: We recommend applying your beauty products first, and then putting on your pearls as the final alignment before leaving.

    • Cleaning: Clean your pearls only with a soft cloth moistened with water.
