Warranty Policy

  • Under EU consumer law and Dutch civil law, all products must conform to the agreement. This means your jewelry must:

    • Match the description shown at purchase

    • Be of satisfactory quality

    • Be fit for normal use

    • Last for a reasonable period considering the product type

If an item shows a manufacturing defect or non-conformity that existed at delivery, you are entitled to a free repair or replacement.

These statutory rights apply regardless of the commercial warranty below and are not limited to a fixed duration. What is “reasonable” depends on the type of jewelry, materials, and expected use.

  • In addition to your legal rights, we offer a 12-month Premium Craftsmanship Warranty from the date of delivery.

    This warranty covers:

    • Structural manufacturing defects

    • Faulty soldering, clasps, or closures

    • Stone loss due to improper initial setting

    • Proven material defects

If a covered issue occurs, we will:

    • Repair the item free of charge, or

    • Replace the item with the same or equivalent piece, or

    • Provide store credit if repair or replacement is not possible

The chosen solution depends on what is technically and reasonably possible.

  • Because jewelry is worn on the body and exposed to daily conditions, the following are not considered manufacturing defects:

    • Normal wear such as scratches, dents, or surface marks

    • Natural oxidation, tarnishing, or color changes over time

    • Wear of gold plating or vermeil coatings

    • Damage from impact, dropping, pulling, or crushing

    • Bent rings caused by pressure or incorrect sizing

    • Broken chains caused by snagging or force

    • Lost items or missing stones caused by external damage

    • Damage from water, sweat, cosmetics, perfume, or cleaning agents

    • Improper storage or careless handling

    • Repairs, resizing, or modifications by third parties

Handmade texture variations or small irregularities are part of the design and not defects.

  • Fine jewelry requires mindful handling. To preserve both appearance and longevity:

    • Remove jewelry before sports, swimming, sleeping, or showering

    • Avoid direct contact with perfume, lotion, and chemicals

    • Store pieces separately in a dry, soft-lined container

    • Treat fine chains and delicate elements with care

Damage resulting from improper use may still be repairable, but not covered free of charge.

  • To request an inspection:

    1. Email hello@studio-iris-jewelry.nl

    2. Include:

      • Your order number

      • Clear photographs of the item

      • A short description of the issue

We may ask you to return the item for professional assessment.

    • Return shipping to our studio is paid by the customer

    • If the defect is confirmed under warranty or legal conformity rules, we reimburse reasonable shipping costs

    • Do not send items without prior confirmation

  • If your jewelry is damaged outside warranty coverage:

    • We offer a professional paid repair service whenever technically possible

    • You will always receive a price quote before any work begins

Our goal is to extend the life of every Studio Iris piece wherever possible.

  • Warranty service requires proof that the item was purchased through:

    • Our official webshop

    • Our verified sales channels

An order confirmation, receipt, or registered purchase email is sufficient.

  • This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and to private consumer purchases. It does not cover commercial use, resale, or wholesale transactions.

Nothing in this policy limits your mandatory rights under applicable EU or Dutch consumer protection law.
